First of all well done to the Stockton, Yarm and Redcar u10’s for turning up and playing in very testing cold conditions. It took a lot of bottle for young men to turn out for their respective sides today. Well done again you did your clubs proud.

Redcar 4 vs 2 Yarm.

Seven weeks since our last fixture and the lads were ready to get back into action against a Yarm side I don’t believe we have played before.
Captain for the opening fixture was Shay who in my opinion has been the best trainer for the last few weeks at the indoor and outdoor sessions.
Yarm started off and played a very tight mauling game which was a good idea in the conditions. Redcar usually start very slow and defended their line well but it was only a matter of time before Yarm’s pressure resulted in the first try of the game.
When Redcar did get their hands on the ball, they played some fantastic running rugby and soon hit back with a leveller from Jacob.
George King who tackled and rucked ferociously was rewarded with his first try of the season after latching onto a pass from Spencer and powered through two tackles to score.

Half Time Redcar 2 vs 1 Yarm.

Second half saw much of the same, Yarm very good in the tight and Redcar lightening quick in the loose. Redcar increased their lead to four tries though Spencer and Joe Allday. Just before the end Yarm scored their second try to finish the match 4-2.
