A dominent Banshees side went into their last game omf the season with a level of confidence that they richly deserved. On the invitation of Hartlepool, we travelled to play in a celebration of rugby and for their Presidents Day.
In somewhat of a slow start, Hartlepool looked to take the initiative and really give us a challenging game. Normally our Banshee Doom Cry would be enough to wake us up and prepare us for the game, but today we would have a challenge on our hands. Hartlepool had arrived and wanted to challenge, and possibly enact a little revenge on us from previous meetings. As they openned up their account with an early try it was time to slip into gear and meet them head on.
The next series of tries were all from Hartlepool and to their credit Redcar kept their heads up and dug in. the hard work and determination being rewarded with 3 tries to follow, giving us the lead in the first half.
The second half found the Banshees finally finding their gear and taking the game to Hartlepool with another series of tries from Boca and Roadie, see Roadie, i knew you'd put that Road Runner speed to good use eventually.
Hartlepool answered us with another try, but by then our dominance of the game overwelmed them and we managed to get a few more tries in before the final whistle.
Comming to the end of our first season we have some a long way (having been established in September) and beaten teams that have been established for alot longer than us. The level of pride both I and Coach Liam have cannot be understated, you have earned your place as one of the top sides in the region at your level, now comes the hard part, they know how good we are and will be ready for us. Time to start climbing up the gears.
So coming to the close of the season, we look forward to seeing you all at the end of season celebrations. Which leaves me with one thing to say really, 'BEWARE OF THE BANSHEES CALL, YOUR DOOM AWAITS!!!, GO REDCAR.
