The first recorded defeat for the Banshees against a very well established Billingham setup.
From the start Billingham arrived at Redcar with a large, well drilled side, but also a side that had been playing together for a long period of time.
The first half started slowly for us, and at times we struggled to deal with the pace of the game. But we did eventually find our stride and managed to put a few tries past them.
The second half seemed to be another opportunity for Billingham to stamp their mark on the game and firmly place the rhythm in their favour. Towards the end, the length of time they had spent together, their numbers, and a few questionably behaviours just got the better of us and led to a convincing defeat.
Redcar played with heart and determination, but sometimes numbers and experience will just be too much on the day. We will come back stronger and more capable, watch this space.
