The Colts travelled to Whitley Bay for their final game of the year before taking a break for Christmas missing a handful of regular players however those playing really stepped up with an impressive all-round performance.
The team welcomed Harvey back into the fold, slotting in at outside centre. He delivered a fantastic display in his first game back.
Cassius filled in at fly-half, controlling play with some well-judged kicks. One led directly to a try for Ali minutes into the first half getting Redcar off to a flying start, while later in the match producing a superb offload to AJ, creating a try scoring opportunity on the wing that very few saw coming.
Defence was a major highlight, with dominant tackles throughout the game.
AJ, Ali, Kayden, Joseph, and Leo all stood out with big hits, setting the physical tone.
Kayden and Leo were also outstanding going forward, making powerful runs and coming close to scoring on several occasions, but consistently putting teammates into strong positions to finish the job.
The first half was evenly contested, with both sides matching each other try for try. A quick reshuffle at halftime potentially raising eyebrows on the sideline saw AJ move from prop to centre and Ali from flanker to scrum half which proved to be a masterstroke.
Redcar took firm control of the second half and pulled away to secure a convincing 48–29 victory, rounding off the match with a well deserved win.
