Redcar had 7 changes from the team that won convincingly at home last week against Darlington. Unfortunately they were hit by a double blow in the first 5 mins when flyhalf Kieran Mcmahon was injured and had to leave the field and so was his replacement, fullback Joe Cooke, so 2nd row Steve Bryce had to play flyhalf for the remainder of the game. Redcar battled on in the face of adversity and Steve Bryce kicked a penalty for Redcar , Matty Curry scored a try, also converted by Steve Bryce and 2nd row Drew Reader scored a try, giving Redcar 15 points.
The final score was Bishop Auckland 22 Redcar 15.
All credit to the whole squad who travelled to Bishop and played their hearts out and earned a very important bonus point. Man of the match was Steve Bryce.
