After blowing off some cobwebs last weekend against Wallsend, Redcar’s first big test of the season comes this weekend with a trip to Blyth. Redcar have had a tough time making selection decisions with key players being out injured or unavailable.
Allan Dixon and his son Josh are unavailable as is winger Craig Newlands. Matt Curry and Rob Bryce are still on Redcar’s injury list and Anth Coulsen is away on Holiday. Jamie Dentith starts in the front row with Andy Little and Wills, while James Cochrane makes a welcome return to 1st XV duty on the bench, after last seasons injury. Cameron Miller, who has impressed at training this week makes selection or Redcar after playing an handful of games last season.
“Last week we had a full squad to choose from and this week has been the complete opposite” said Lee Phoenix, “Blyth are going to be a big test for us, it is one of the further games we will have to travel for and we need to be able to hit first gear straight away from the kick off” he added.
