Erik was visiting his mother in Freeman Hospital in Newcastle yesterday and was sat by her bedside with his wife Kath and other members of the family when he passed away peacefully.

Erik was our President until recent months when health problems forced him to stand down.

Erik gave his all to RRUFC and only wanted the very best, he was working hard towards our 100 year anniversary and would always have a story or memory for us all to enjoy.

Erik was a long standing member of the club, team captain in the 70’s and 80’s and committee member alongside following the 1st XV every week across the North East, he will be sorely missed by all.

Absolutely devastating news, thoughts go out to Kath, Rachel, Sarah and the family at this very sad time.
