Hair and beauty students at Redcar & Cleveland College’s Mosaic salon carried out a range of treatments on the lads from Redcar Rugby Union Football Club to mark the beginning of a new sports partnership.
The treatments were a bit of light hearted fun after they finalised a two-year partnership agreement.
While the girls demonstrated a selection of beauty therapy treatments, from waxing and facials to manicures and massage, members of the rugby club’s first team sat back and enjoyed the experience.
Tony Beal, Chairman of Redcar Rugby Union Football Club said: “We’re really pleased to have Redcar & Cleveland College as our official partners, particularly because we are both entrenched in Redcar and are at the heart of the community.
“A lot of our players have attended the college in the past, so it means a lot to the players too. I think they have enjoyed coming into the college for a bit of pampering, although they would probably never admit it.”
College Principal Gary Groom said the players had been great sports in joining in the pampering session.
He said: “We’re really delighted to be working in partnership with Redcar Rugby Union Football Club this season. We both feel passionate about the involvement of young people in sport and we both want to open up opportunities to young people, so we have a lot in common.
“We wish the club every success for the season and look forward to building on the partnership in the future.”
